Les indigènes de la 709
Collective defense action against air base 709 nuisances
The collective action of the 709 indigens aims
to collectively fight against sonic disturbances caused by aerian
activities from the military base 709, located in Cognac-Châteaubernard,
and its sanitary, social and economic impacts. It states, for each individual,
the right to work, study and rest in decent conditions, and that a strategy
that would focus nuisances on 'indigenic' territories is unacceptable,
as it is not compatible with individual rights for such living conditions.
to organize testimonies gathering at the scale of the entire impacted area, setting a lookout network, and to share the information on this site with the largest audience, making our territories visible,
to involve local representatives, that is the cities community administration, mayors and councils, and provide them with the independent information on base 709 and from the impacted population,
to require precise information concerning means operated by the base administration to suppress or reduce nuisances brought by its activities (periodic statistics for the airspace occupation and use, terrestrial and maritim sectors used by the base, manoeuvers spots, frequency, sonic impact), and to express demands, requiring if necessary the institution of an advisory commission for the environment.
