Participate in an epidemiological study
in collaboration with the collective
"Stop aux nuisances sonores des avions de la BA709"
Noise
stress causes a degradation of the health for some people. One marker
of this stress is blood pressure which, when excessive, poses numerous
health risks. We propose to study the relationship between the noise
impact of trainings, and the blood pressure of study participants. This is how to participate:
Purchase
an electronic blood pressure monitor (we recommend this model: https://www.distrimed.com/product_info.php?products_id=8375), and conduct a serie of systematic
measurements on yourself and possibly those around you.
Take your blood
pressure in the morning upon waking, and in the evening before going to
bed (after 5 minutes of complete inactivity).
Record
the results: date, morning, evening, SYS, DIA, PULS, and a score from 0
to 10 on the perceived discomfort caused by flying over (at night for
the morning measurement, during daytime for the evening one. 0 = no
disturbance, 10 = unbearable).
If possible, enter this into a spreadsheet according to the suggested columns (a file may be found here).
Use the 'contact' facility to inform us with your results. We will then
proceed with an epidemiological analysis, and alert the authorities if
needed.
Thanks for you contribution !.
